Importing from a Spreadsheet

The Road Trip CSV Importer allows you to import fuel and expense data from a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets. The importer is flexible and allows you to configure the contents of each column of data.

Requirements

  • All vehicle data must be contained within a single table. If your data contains both fuel and service/expense data then your table must contain a Type column to identify a row as fuel, service, or expense.
  • The rows do not need to be in any particular order. The data will be sorted automatically by date and odometer.
  • The minimum required fuel columns are: Date, Odometer, Fill Amount, Price per unit. These columns must be present even your data only contains expense records.
  • The data is always imported as a new separate vehicle without affecting your existing data or vehicles.

Column Names

The importer allows you configure the contents of each column of data. To make things easier, it will try to guess each column type based on the column titles. If you use column names that the importer recognizes then it will make things easier.
