Road Trip can export CSV files that are compatible with most spreadsheet software, including Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice, and iWork Numbers. CSV files are transfered either by email or by Dropbox.
To export via Email, open the Info page, tap the menu button in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Email This Vehicle
The email will contain a CSV file attachment that can be opened directly with Microsoft Excel. Save the CSV file to your desktop. Double-click the file to open, or select File > Open in Excel.
Please see the Dropbox Backup and Restore page for instructions on how to set up Dropbox.
To export your CSV data to Dropbox, open the Dropbox Settings Page and press the Export CSV button. You will have the option to export either the current vehicle or all vehicles.
CSV files will be sent to your Dropbox and placed in the Exported CSV Files folder.
The CSV file format is dependent upon your regional language and number formatting settings.
Road Trip will automatically try to use the most suitable CSV format based on your iPhone's regional settings. You can adjust the CSV format in Road Trip by selecting Advanced Settings > CSV Settings.
The Region Format section determines whether a comma (,) or a period (.) is used as a decimal separator, and whether a semi-colon (;) or comma (,) is used as a column delimitor. Select English (United States) to override your regional number formatting and use US-English formatting.
The Text Encoding section determines how non-English text is encoded. Unicode (UTF-8) encodes all languages and is compatible with most modern software; however, Microsoft Excel does not recognize UTF-8. If you use Microsoft Excel, choose the encoding that matches your region and language.
